iPad Pro as a developer companion

As an iOS Developer, my iPad Pro 12.9 inches has become an indispensable tool in my daily work routine.

At first, I used it as an external monitor through Sidecar, but after purchasing an Apple Studio Display, I no longer needed it as a third screen. However, with the introduction of Universal Control, I found a new way to incorporate my iPad into my workflow.

One of the most useful ways I utilise my iPad is for communication. I can quickly chat with my team and clients without having to switch between apps on my Mac. This allows me to stay focused on my work while staying connected with my team.

Additionally, I can listen to and control music without interrupting my work on my Mac.

Another benefit of having my iPad connected through Universal Control is the ability to react to push notifications. I can quickly respond to messages, emails, or other alerts that appear on my iPad without having to take my focus away from my main work screen.

One of the most significant advantages of using my iPad with Universal Control is the ability to test quick solutions in iOS Playgrounds. It is much easier to use Playgrounds on my iPad than on my Mac, which makes it an ideal device for prototyping and testing new ideas.

Finally, I use my iPad to manage my personal tasks through Reminders. With my iPad connected through Universal Control, I can quickly add, delete, or modify reminders without having to switch between devices.

One concern I had with having my iPad connected to Universal Control and charging all the time was the possibility of damaging the battery or the screen. However, after researching this issue, I discovered that it is safe to have the iPad connected to power all the time with the screen on. The iPad has a built-in feature that prevents the battery from overcharging, which ensures that it remains safe and long-lasting.

Overall, Universal Control has transformed my iPad from just an extra screen to an excellent companion device that allows me to do all sorts of things easier and faster. My productivity has increased, and I can confidently say that my iPad is now an indispensable tool in my daily work routine.
